Miley Cyrus the Morning After

miley cyrus award show

The Internet can’t stop talking about Miley Cyrus’s performance on the Video Music Awards.

Daphne Tarango is talking about it, too, but not from a place of judgment:

How many times have we made irrational decisions? Choices that seemed fun at the moment, but the morning after, maybe even hours or seconds after, felt regret, guilt, and shame.

Erupting in anger.

Pulling up the porn just one more time.

Binging on fat-laden foods.

Downing just one more drink.

Having just one more affair.

Telling a “little white lie.”

 …Miley Cyrus might not be [feeling regret] just yet, but I assure you: In time, she will. We all will.

We all seek that one thing that will make us feel alive—truly free. And not just free for a moment, but free for a lifetime. We can’t find it on a stage in front of millions of people or in the corner of a dark room with nothing but our conscience. We find it in Jesus. {Read more here.}

Have an Inspired Day by praying for Miley and others you know who live with regrets.

I run for dear life to God, I’ll never live to regret it. Do what you do so well: get me out of this mess and up on my feet. Psalm 71:1 (MSG)

  1. While I don’t like her music (or any of the current pop stuff), I was saddened by what I saw on the net. She has lost her way big time. I do pray she finds her way back to Jesus and remembers the time she said, “I am a Christ-follower.” She is not alone though. So many former “Christian music” singers or those who have claimed to be Christ-followers have lost their way.

    Yep. That was a good one… Thanks.

  3. I haven’t actually seen the video, but I sure have heard about it. To me, it was just a sad reminder of how people can really mess their lives up. But I hope that she does regret what she’s doing and turn her life back around.
