The One-Minute Workout

one minute workout

Don’t have time to exercise? Or more accurately, don’t want to MAKE time?

Joshua Spodek explains the power of doing one exercise for just one minute–the burpee.

This classic exercise works every part of the body and even gets your heart rate up. Check out this video to see how to do it.

Not a fan of the burpee? Check out the Move app for iOS. At intervals you specify, you’ll be alerted that it’s time to exercise with a different activity lasting about a minute.

If you have a minute, what you don’t have is an excuse not to exercise.

Have an Inspired Day by moving for a minute.

Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! (1 Timothy 4:7, MSG)

I often take 1 minute breaks while I’m working on the computer to do push-ups or lunges or pull-ups. I may now have to include burbees in my 1 minute workouts!

Caleb, you’re smart to take exercise breaks. If I could only do one exercise, burpees are what I would choose. Thanks so much for commenting.

  2. I’ll stick with my bike riding and Bowflex. My back and knee problems would not allow this to even be a possibility. I was told in 1993 not to jump, run or twist (Like swinging a bat). I have done neither since. Watching the girl for one minute was tiring. :)

Hmm, I could get into 1 minute exercise! I’ll have to check it out. Today I took a little yard work break. I puzzled over my writing problem while I weeded the flower beds, then came back into write and it went much more smoothly. I’m going to try to keep doing that – it will be good for my gardens AND my writing! I imagine these little one minute exercises would work the same way. I’m off to check it out!
